Dear Members and partners,
2021 has been a very challenging year for many of us and I’m sure, like me, you are quietly hopeful that 2022 will be an improvement. In the past year, MNZCC has seen a change in staff with a new Chamber Manager. Please feel free to reach out on any issues the chamber can assist you with.
Despite the continued lockdowns over the year the chamber has managed to maintain a busy calendar with some great in-person events such as the Waitangi Day BBQ held in conjunction with MANZA, the ABA conference and lunch held in October which was graced by the NZ High Commissioner H.E. Ms. Pam Dunn and included guests from MIDA, MITI, Malaysian Immigration and InvestKL. Our most recent event with BMW included representatives from 6 to 7 Chambers of the other international chambers.
The chamber has had a busy year of advocacy representing the views of our members to the NZ government around MIQ and other border restrictions and in Malaysia on immigration issues. For 2022 we are planning to combine with other Malaysian business chambers to more actively advocate on behalf of our members. To this end, please continue to let us know your issues.
The chamber has continued to be active in strengthening the inter ASEAN and NZ links and our members have been speakers at multiple events run by the South East Asian CAPE, MIDA, the NZABA and NZ Universities and has been part of discussions with MFAT and Hon Phil Twyford, Minister of State for Export Growth.
A big thank you to our Patron, the NZ High Commissioner H.E Pam Dunn for the continued support and her attendance at our events.
And finally thank you to all our members and partners for your continued support over the year, it is only by your support that the chambers activities have been possible. We wish you all a wonderful Christmas and New Years celebrations.
Stay safe and well and look forward to seeing you all in 2022.
