The Malaysia New Zealand Chamber of Commerce (MNZCC) successfully held its 31st Annual General Meeting (AGM) on June 28, 2023, at
Café @ La Salle. Despite the public holiday weekend, 35 attendees
were present, and their presence was appreciated.
The AGM was chaired by Secretary Reece Kurta, and Chairman Andrew Bayly delivered the official opening address. During the meeting, Chairman Bayly provided an overview of the Chamber’s performance in 2022. It is always beneficial to review the previous year’s accomplishments and challenges to gain insights and plan for the future.
Dato Michael CH Wong, the Vice Chairman, presented an overview report on the MNZCC Members Survey 2023. This survey likely aimed to gather valuable feedback from members to assess their satisfaction, identify areas for improvement, and shape the Chamber’s future initiatives.
Additionally, Ts. ChM. Kelvin Soo presented the financial report of the Chamber, giving an account of its financial performance and stability. This report is essential for members to understand the Chamber’s financial health and transparency.
It is commendable that the MNZCC has been successful in increasing its membership through new enrolments. This growth is likely attributed to the Chamber’s focus on continuous member engagement despite facing various challenges. By organizing physical events and webinars, the Chamber ensured that its operations were aligned with its vision and mission. These activities likely provided opportunities for networking, knowledge sharing, and fostering business relationships between Malaysian and New Zealand companies.
Overall, the AGM seems to have been a productive and informative event, highlighting the Chamber’s achievements, member feedback, and financial status. It’s encouraging to see the Chamber’s commitment to serving its members and promoting bilateral trade and investment between Malaysia and New Zealand.
The Committee presented Andrew a farewell gift in honour of his outstanding leadership, his achievements and the positive impact he has made on the Chamber and its members.
We would like to take this opportunity to express our thank you to our Partners, Members and Our stakeholders @The New Zealand High Commission Kuala Lumpur and New Zealand Trade & Enterprise.
